The FEMP discuss with power companies on the rate of last resort.
The FEMP negotiate with power companies hiring conditions of supply of last resort by the municipalities, given the problems they are having the consistory after the demise of electricity tariffs regulated prices.
The President of the FEMP, Pedro Castro, sent a letter to the chairmen of the electricity supply companies in which they proposed a meeting to reach a framework agreement in place covering both the needs of the municipalities and corporate interests.
In the letter, sent to the chairmen of Iberdrola, Endesa Energy, EON Spain and the Gas Natural Group, Pedro Castro transmits them concern about the "situation burdensome" to local councils representing the fact that the money supply is now same for all users, regardless of their legal status. In addition, he alludes to the difficulties faced when contracting with the marketers and the risk of power cuts in essential services by default rendered by the municipalities, resulting in damage to citizens.
In this situation, President of the FEMP has also realized the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Trade Miguel Sebastian.
