The Governing Board is the body responsible for implementing the resolutions of the Plenary Meeting and the Territorial Council. It consists of the Chairman, two Vice-Chairmen, twenty-two Members and the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Local Finance Committee of the FEMP, the latter two with voice but no vote. The Secretary of the Governing Board shall be the General Secretary of the FEMP.
Its mandate lasts from its election until the conclusion of the next ordinary Plenary Meeting unless the extraordinary Plenary Meeting decides on its early renewal; in which case the mandate of the new Governing Board shall also end at the conclusion of the next ordinary Plenary Meeting.
It will meet in ordinary session at the intervals the Board itself establishes and in extraordinary session when convened as such by the Chairman or requested by a number of members representing no less than two-fifths or a number of members representing at least half the votes of the Plenary Meeting.
It is the responsibility of the Governing Board to fulfil the resolutions of the Territorial Council and the Plenary Meeting of the FEMP, appoint representatives of the local corporations in those organizations where there is local representation, manage the assets of the Federation, admit new members, resolve to file any legal actions necessary to defend local interests or appoint and dismiss, at the proposal of the Chairman, the person to act as General Secretary.
