The Congress urges the Government to provide finance laws and Local Government before the summer
The Plenum of the Congress has passed a motion urging the Government to submit to the House before the end of the current session bills of local funding and government and local administrations. The motion was adopted by 321 votes in favor, 14 against and 2 abstentions.
The text of the motion states: "The House of Representatives urges the Government to submit to the House before the end of the current session, the draft new Law on Local Finance, in conjunction with the new Bill Basic Local Government and Administration as well as incorporate a financial report to the latter Act. "
The motion, presented by the Grupo Popular, finally had the majority support of the House, including the Socialist Group. During the debate, the spokespersons of the parliamentary groups agreed on the need for urgent reform of both laws to ensure that local governments can adequately provide services to citizens and FEMP's role as a partner at the time of agreeing and drive both parliamentary initiatives.
