Presented the campaign against discrimination at the municipal level


The State Secretariat for Equality and FEMP presented Awareness Campaign Against Discrimination in the local level, with the aim of giving local entities methodological and organizational tools for the development of policies and actions for prevention and elimination of discrimination.


Under the title "Fight against discrimination," this campaign is part of the agreement between the FEMP and the Ministry of Health, Social Affairs and Equal and provides for the distribution of posters, calendars and postcards and broadcast radio and television spots on local stations . They show everyday situations where different groups (women, immigrants, disabled people) are discriminated against in employment, access to housing or employment, enjoyment of public spaces and services or treatment citizen.
During the presentation of the campaign, Secretary of State for Equality, Laura Seara, referred to the Draft Law on Equal Treatment and Non-Discrimination driven by his department, whose adoption has delayed the electoral breakthrough. Seara expressed his confidence that govern who governs, this project sees the light in the next Legislature.
He also expressed concern about the irresponsibility of those who believe they have found an electoral bonanza stigmatizing and blaming certain groups of unemployment and insecurity.
In the presentation of the campaign were involved, plus the Secretary of State, the Director General for Equality in Employment and Discrimination Cristina Saucedo, and Secretary General of the FEMP, Isaura Leal, who explained that the signs vary depending on the audience they are addressed: business, government, unions and citizens.
